Sharing food as a basic gift of life, we support our community with care, compassion, and dignity for all.
In addition to the basic necessities we typically think of for a food pantry, consider the following:
-
If you were in a grocery store line and had to put something back for budgetary reasons, what is one of the first things you would put back?
-
What are some of those spices and flavors that you have in a cabinet that you use often but sometimes take for granted because you seldom have to rebuy them?
-
We often hear suggestions to give pop-top cans that do not require a can opener. While this is a wonderful gesture, consider solving the bigger problem by donating can openers if you are able.
These ideas open many more possibilities and exemplify the dignity, compassion, and care we all need at different seasons of life.
If you are in a season of abundance and are so willing, please check out our Meal in a Bag page for more suggestions.
